ACJC GIRL and the cleaner attacked by tigers

Two pieces of Singapore news yesterday caught my attention. nothing to do with the finanical meltdown or whatsoever. First was the ACJC girl who got “humilated” by the schoolmates, and then was the cleaner who got killed by the tigers in the zoo.

This ACJC girl issue, when I first heard of it, before watching the video, I thought wow, it somehow sounded like one of those abuse girl episode, which I thought, ya, its bad. However, after more in depth “research” its not all that they made it out to be. Like what Tim said, its just like a birthday prank. Watch the video, you see if for yourself, I am very sure, guys especially have played these kind of pranks on one another before, as I have said, yes, they are just birthday pranks! take a look and see it for yourself. Even the girl herself thinks its just for plain fun and thank the people who played prank on her! I have to admit that if its done to a guy, this is like nothing, cuz its so common! however, this happened to a girl, so ya, maybe its a little overboard? links for videos:

another thing that shocked me was the attack of the cleaner by two tigers. I was talking to people about this and thought that, wouldnt the tiger be fed enough and domesticated such that they would not attack human?

 

what was reported on straits time today was that,

1. “as the cleaner approached the tiger, the largest of the 3 white tigers lunged at him”, arent these tigers supposed to be domesticated, thats why we are thought in school that these zoo animals cannot be let out into the wild again because they would not know how to take care of themselves?

2. “zoo keepers armed with rifles were not used and one tiger continued to attacked Mr Nordin.” why didnt the zoo keepers try to shoot since these weapons are supposed to be shoot-to kill weapons in case a life in danger? and worse of all, i took quite long to activate the shooters. 

3. “the tigers only relented after a door to the tigers’ feeding area was opened” meaning are the tigers hungry thats why they attacked the cleaner? 

Even though it was also reported that the cleaner himself had been acting strangely and it seems as though he was the one who wanted to “commit suicide”, however, zoo keepers should still prevent such cases from happening. 

Another thought that I had was, are these “safe enclosures” really that safe afterall? Look, if one were to fall into these enclosures, tigers could swim pass the moat, wouldnt that pose a danger to the visitors?

after watching the news last night, they showed the animals description and supposedly, one caption was something like, the tigers play peek-a-boo with thte tourist. HAH so much for that. and when these tigers were filmed, they look totally nonchalant. ya i know, they are animals afterall.
